A native of Florida, Reid grew up in Fort Myers and attended Stetson University, where he played division 1 men’s tennis. Upon graduation in 2006, he participated in his fraternity’s largest philanthropy event, The Journey of Hope, wherein he raised over $5,000 and cycled more than 4,200 miles from San Francisco to Washington, DC, to benefit people with disabilities.
